War Talk

This series presents digitally reworked freeze frames from propaganda footage of WWI, WWII, and the Cold War, sourced from public online archives such as archive.org and NARA. The images have been enlarged, enhanced, and colorized, then projected in a large-scale, immersive slideshow across multiple walls. Each frame is paired with a subtitle – short excerpts from political speeches, letters, or declarations by historical figures – while the full texts, voiced by actors, play asynchronously over loudspeakers. The result is a dissonant meditation on the mechanisms and lingering echoes of war rhetoric.
