When creating images, the concept of ramification can be highly useful. Ramification refers to a sequence of causes and effects that can ideally be traced back to an origin or core. It describes a fundamental structure from which similar substructures branch out, reaching toward edges and tips to form elements like leaves, flowers, or fruits. In the rhizomatic undergrowth of everyday life, however, such a core is rarely present. The images remain experimental constructs, their intricate mental leaps forming a kind of associative genealogy – perhaps metaphors for a longing for cohesive origin.
